The U.S. Navy hospital ship the USNS Comfort is now docked at Manhattan's Pier 90 to help New York City deal with the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.

A converted supertanker, the ship has one-thousand hospital beds, 12 operating rooms, and a full medical staff including doctors, nurses and specialists.

With the city's hospitals focused heavily on treating COVID-19 patients, the Comfort will provide overflow capacity for patients requiring more traditional treatment.

This isn't the Comfort's first visit to New York Harbor, as the ship was also deployed to the city following the 9/11 attacks.
