Meet Jasper!
If you know this breed, you know they are often mistaken for the Pitbull breed. Jasper is, in fact, a Mastiff. These are big, lovable, and fiercely loyal dogs to their families. However, they require a lot of patience when transitioning to a new home or environment. They do not do well in a shelter setting.
Ideally, we want this boy to go back home. But if his family can't find him, we don’t want him to suffer in the shelter. Extended shelter time might not end well for Jasper. If adopted, we are looking for an experienced Cane Corso handler—those who understand this breed very well.
Jasper is estimated to be three years old and has many years ahead. He has what is called “cherry eye," which is triggered by stress. This condition is highly treatable. Pay It Forward For Pets is willing to fund the surgery to correct his eye for his current owner if they come forward, or for a new adopter. It’s a quick, simple procedure.
If you are an experienced handler and want to give Jasper the love, patience, and kindness he deserves, don’t delay—set up a meet and greet today.
