Midas Automotive Service in West Palm Beach, Florida, is providing free or discounted car repairs to federal employees affected by the ongoing government shutdown.

Owner Ron Katz, who also helped workers during the 2018–19 shutdown, says the goal is to make sure people can get to work despite missing paychecks.

The shop verifies eligibility through government IDs and recent pay stubs and covers most costs directly.

Katz plans to continue offering assistance until the government reopens to help federal workers manage transportation needs during the crisis.
