It’s the plot of classic sitcoms: someone sticks money in a household item, and it gets donated to a thrift store.

Mildred Simoneriluto, 76, said she bought a Pennsylvania Cash 5 ticket at the Shop 'n Save store in Murrysville in May 2024 and matched all five numbers for a jackpot of $2.5 million.

When Mildred went to cash it in, realization struck.

She had left it in the pocket of a jacket she donated to Vietnam Veterans of America. Unfortunately, the jacket could be anywhere, and the charity doesn’t track purchases.

The deadline to cash the ticket in is May 8th.

Needless to say, Mildred is kicking herself for the major error.
