If an armored truck suddenly flings sacks of cash out onto the street, it’s no surprise what happens next. A Brinks armored truck traveling on South Austin Boulevard in Oak Park, Illinois, had an unexpected problem when its back door opened, causing three bags of cash to fall onto the roadway.

Witnesses reported that between 50 and 100 individuals seized the opportunity, collecting the scattered money and fleeing the scene on foot and in vehicles. The estimated total amount taken was approximately $300,000. As of Friday, no arrests had been made.
