Akron Mayor Shammas Malik is releasing his plan for the city's 2026 operating budget.
The $785 million budget includes the return of speed cameras to school zones, $250,000 to support emergency services for unhoused city residents, and $500,000 for implementing recommendations from the Akron Police Department's use-of-force policy review.
Overtime funding for Akron police and fire would be reduced.
