Senate Democrats failed to pass a war powers resolution that would have halted President Trump from using further military action against Iran without Congressional approval.
The Wednesday vote was related to the 1973 War Powers Act, a Vietnam-war era resolution meant to check the president's power to enter armed conflict without consent from the Legislative branch.
Yesterday's vote was largely along party lines, with Ohio's Republican Senators Bernie Moreno and Jon Husted voting against.
The House is expected to consider a similar measure today, although Trump has said he would likely veto it.
