Portage County Health Officials Detect West Nile Virus In Mosquito Pools

Health Officials Expect Active West Nile Season

West Nile virus is being detected in Portage County.

Health officials say 88 mosquito pools tested positive for the virus this month.

The specific locations are Streetsboro City Park, Bolender Road in Suffield, Fairview Cemetery in Hiram, and within Kent city limits.

So far this year, the Portage County Health District has one confirmed human case, which is being investigated.
