A man is facing assault charges for allegedly attacking a Hudson City Council member.

Councilman Chris Banweg took to social media recently. While he didn't get into specifics about the incident, he said he was fine and that it was handled professionally by the police.

Authorities say the unidentified suspect walked up to the Council member as he walked into Town Hall last week and got right into his face, and swiped his finger across his nose.

That man has been charged with assault, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.
