Jurors have returned a verdict in the trial of a man accused of killing an Akron one-year-old.

Prosecutors say that, in a 2023 incident, Ian Belcher was alone with young Arteyon Cannon for approximately six hours, during which he caused injuries that led to the child's death.

Belcher's attorneys deny the charges and state that the boy's godmother was alone with the child for nearly an hour after Belcher left and could have caused the fatal injuries.

Yesterday, jurors found Belcher not guilty of murder and child endangerment.
