Prosecutors are deciding against charging two Ravenna Police officers involved in the shooting death of a suspect.
Officers were dispatched to an apartment on March 16th after a caller reported someone sleeping on the floor with a gun.
After an initial encounter, police say the man, later identified as 48-year-old Shawn Ware, tried to leave the apartment using someone else as a human shield.
When the hostage broke free, Ware reportedly pointed what turned out to be a BB gun at officers.
Officers opened fire, and Ware died at the scene.
Portage County Prosecutor Connie Lewandowski says the use of deadly force was reasonable and justifiable.
