Child Injured After Striking Bullet With A Hammer

A Tuscarawas County boy is recovering from injuries suffered in a Thursday incident.

Authorities say the nine-year-old found a .22 caliber bullet and struck it with a hammer, causing it to explode.

The boy took shrapnel to his arm and ankle but avoided severe injuries.

He was taken to Akron Children's Hospital for care and is expected to make a full recovery.
