Ohio's $60 billion biennial budget has now been approved.
Officials from Governor DeWine's office posted on X late last night, saying the governor signed the two-year spending plan at 11:15 p.m., just meeting the deadline.
Some elements of the budget bill passed by state lawmakers were controversial, such as cuts to public library funding and a plan to use $600 million in unclaimed funds to build a new stadium for the Cleveland Browns.
Governor DeWine has line-item veto power over the budget and likely made some adjustments before signing it.
He states he and Lieutenant Governor Jim Tressel will discuss more details of the final plan today.
