The owner of the Akron Rubber Ducks has his eyes on another team.

Reports indicate that Ken Babby is part of a group of investors looking to finalize a deal to purchase MLB's Tampa Bay Rays.

Front Office Sports reports that Babby and his group are negotiating an agreement to buy the team for $1.7 billion.

Babby acquired the Double-A Rubber Ducks in 2012 and also owns Florida's Triple-A Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp.
