The Department of Transportation is approving ten million dollars in federal funding for work on the Akron Innerbelt.

The funding is to go to efforts surrounding a one-mile decommissioned section of the roadway that negatively impacted a number of residents and businesses.

Akron's mayor says the funding will allow the city to build on its commitment to bridge divides created by the construction of the Innerbelt.
