A young Kent City Schools student is facing charges after he allegedly made a threat against his school.

Police say that on Thursday night, two Stanton Middle School students were texting back and forth when one of the students, only identified as being eleven years old, made threats of a school shooting.

The other student reported the conversation and police later took the student into custody on charges of making terroristic threats.

Out of an abundance of caution, Stanton Middle School is closed today.
