A Summit County Sheriff's deputy is being lauded for his efforts in helping to save a man's life.
The sheriff's office says that Deputy Ruggles responded to a scene on I-77 Southbound near Lauby Road Sunday morning where a 78-year-old Canal Fulton man was found unresponsive.
Deputy Ruggles and an Ohio State Highway Patrol officer, with an assist from civilian bystanders, gave the man CPR and shocks from an AED until a medical unit arrived.
The victim's pulse returned and he was breathing on his own when taken from the scene.
