ome voices behind the scenes, but few publicly, have called for the president to withdraw from the 2024 contest since his widely criticized performance in last week's presidential debate.
Ryan, a Democrat, says in a column published this week in Newsweek, that he loves Joe Biden but that the party's nominee should be Vice-President Kamala Harris.
President Biden has said that he is committed to remaining in the race.
