Akron Public Schools may soon see several rounds of extensive cuts.

Superintendent Michael Robinson says the district needs to cut 15 million dollars from its budget before the next school year and then more will need to be cut in the coming years.

Robinson says the cuts may be "quite substantial" and they need to be done before the next fiscal year starts on July 1st.

To help alleviate some of the cuts, the district is considering putting a levy on the November ballot, but even if that levy passes, Robinson says the district will be spending at a deficit in the coming years.
