Black Sabbath legend Tony Iommi has weighed in on Birmingham (UK) Royal Ballet’s “Black Sabbath- The Ballet.” The guitarist and long-running member of the iconic rock band, who also lent his expertise to the production, raved about the experience.
“To come in, and working with these guys, and seeing it, it’s just fantastic,” said Iommi, who admitted he’d never been to a ballet before. “And the work that they put in is just amazing.” Not hiding his delight, Iommi added “I never thought for a minute we would have people dancing to ‘Black Sabbath’ and ‘War Pigs’ and ‘Iron Man’.”
The ballet also includes Sabbath classics like “Paranoid,” “Solitude,” “Orchid,” and “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.” The run will launch in September in the UK and continue through the fall.
