Akron Police Break Up "Unlawful" Protest

Akron police say a peaceful gathering turned into an unlawful protest last night.

The protests stem from a grand jury deciding to not press charges against any of the officers involved in the shooting death of Jayland Walker last June.

The city says the march started peacefully but then rocks and bottles were thrown at officers.

Law enforcement then used pepper spray to disperse the crowds.

Later in the night, protestors gathered somewhere else and many were seen smashing the windows of restaurants with rocks. The city is expected to release a full report today or tomorrow on the protest.

No arrests were made last night.
