Surgeon General Pushes Flu Shots In Visit To Canton

The U.S. surgeon general used an appearance in Canton on Thursday as an opportunity to push flu shots.

Jerome Adams led a group including the deputy secretary of Health and Human Services on a visit to Mercy Medical Center.

In a morning discussion, Adams stressed the importance of people getting their annual flu shot.

The surgeon general advised that if someone gets the flu vaccine, they'll likely receive a COVID vaccine faster when that's available.

Adams also suggested that people take time to consider their upcoming holiday plans and ask themselves if it's worth the risk of possibly spreading or catching COVID in order to have that family event.
