Faith - 6/2/22

Gotta love a labrador retriever! I know we, at this rescue, do. Did you know that labrador retrievers are the number one most desired breed in this country? Did you know that they are also the number one most euthanized? Why? Because breeders birth these pups to meet public demand; however, Labs are often pups until they are 3 to 4 years of age - and then begin to quiet down. Often, the demands of the breed end up being their demise in the end. They are perfect family dogs when the breed is understood and treated well - like all dogs. They are active dogs so an active family is the ideal situation for a young Labrador.

Faith is both a Labrador and a German shepherd mix breed girl. This makes her extra intelligent and super perceptive. The mix-breed is often favored for a much healthier dog, long-term. At 1 1/2 to 2 years of age, this girl is quite calm and kind. She’s settled in her kennel and is definitely a true people-pleaser! Because Labs are, usually, fun and active dogs, an active family is the ideal situation for young Faith. She bonds quickly with her handlers but you can tell she’s making an effort to trust as it does not come automatically. At nearly 40 pounds, Faith would be considered full grown; however, she may fill out a little bit more as she settles in to her new life.
