Barberton Mayor William Judge has resigned from his position as of yesterday.

In April, the Barberton City Council voted 6-2 in favor of considering his removal, even though Judge was serving his fourth term in office.

Following the vote, Judge stated that challenging the council's decision would hinder his "ability to continue serving effectively."

The council had previously cited "an alleged pattern of conduct" as the reason for requesting Judge's removal.
