A Canton police officer is being fired after he had been accused of using excessive force.
In May, Officer Nicholas Casto deployed his K-9 on a man during a traffic stop on 16th Street Northwest.
That man suffered from injuries after being bitten by the K-9.
Canton Mayor William Sherer says he fully supports Casto's firing, as his actions "are not a reflection of the men and women of the Canton Police Department that wake up every morning with the mission to serve and protect."
