In response to Monday's grand jury decision in the Jayland Walker case and the public reaction that's followed,
Akron Public Schools will be closed today. Interim Superintendent Mary B. Outley says the move is to ensure the safety of students and staff.
Meanwhile, the University of Akron says that, out of an abundance of caution, they are moving all in-person classes at the main campus to remote instruction until further notice.
