The official crowning of Britain’s King Charles III is May 6th and details are beginning to emerge at a rapid pace. And for those of you who guessed the event would be stocked with only British talent, guess again.
Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and the British pop group Take That have been confirmed among the musicians to perform at the coronation. Richie is no stranger to the Prince-turned-King, as the former Commodores singer is a part of Charles’ charity, The Prince’s Trust.
Richie will be joined by pop star- and fellow “American Idol” judge- Katy Perry. She also belongs to one of Charles’ charities, The British Asian Trust. Opera stars Andrea Bocelli and Sir Bryan Terfel are slated to give the event a more classical vibe.
