With eight members of Summit County Council on the ballot Tuesday, six were reelected by voters.
Council members Schmidt, Rodgers, Wilhite, Sims, Freeman and McKenny were all elected to new terms.
The other two council members were not so fortunate.
Republican Ron Koehler was narrowly defeated by Democrat Rita Darrow.
Democrat Paula Prentice lost her race to Republican challenger Anthony Devitis.
