Meghan Markle & Prince Harry May Be Spending Thanksgiving In The U.S.

BRITAIN-ROYALS

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could be spending the holidays in the States.

The royal couple is reportedly planning to relieve themselves from all the tabloid scrutiny theyā€™ve endured in recent weeks with some necessary ā€œfamily timeā€ abroad. According to PEOPLE, Harry and Markle will enjoying a six-week getaway with time split in both the U.K. and the U.S. ā€” and just in time for Thanksgiving! A royal insider told the outlet on Sunday (October 20): ā€œThe duke and duchess have a full schedule of engagements and commitments until mid-November, after which they will be taking some much-needed family time."

Word of the lovebirdsā€™ holiday plans comes just days after the 38-year-old actress, who welcomed the pairā€™s firstborn, son Archie, back in May, opened up about the struggles of balancing royal life with motherhood. In a rare televised interview which appears in their upcoming documentary, Harry & Meghan: An African Journey, the Suits alum got emotional when asked how sheā€™s been coping with life after welcoming her child.

"Any woman ā€” especially when they are pregnant ā€” you are really vulnerable, so thatĀ was made really challenging,ā€ Markle admits in the clip. ā€œAnd then when you have a newborn, and especially as a woman, it is a lot.ā€

"So you add this on top of just trying to be a new mom or trying to be a newlywed, I guess thank you for asking, because not many people have asked if I am OK," she continues, tearing up in the process.Ā "But itā€™s a very real thing to be going through behind-the-scenes."

Elsewhere in the doc, Harry also hints at potentially relocating his family to Africa, which he believes would be ā€œan amazing placeā€ to raise their son. This is without a doubt due to the "ruthless" treatment Markle has suffered in England, which has since inspired the duo to take legal action against a myriad of British tabloids.
