Trucker Gives Cash To Struggling Mom Who Adopted Special-Needs Baby

Eugene Wilkerson, a trucker from Byhalia, Mississippi, wanted to help the parents of a little girl facing some major long-term health issues.

Lisa and Keith Taylor have raised their children and are now grandparents. However, that didn’t deter them from adopting a baby girl with special needs. Sweet Abby has Gomez-Lopez-Hernandez syndrome. She’s already had 15 procedures ranging from brain to liver surgery, as well as four open-heart surgeries. Expenses continue to mount for the Taylor family.

Lisa used to run a popular hair salon south of town, but when they adopted Abby, she closed up shop. She now operates a smaller shop next to her home, which allows her to spend more time with Abby. The family’s already tight budget is stretched to the limit.

Knowing the family needed some extra help, Eugene reached out to Tim Simpson of the news station WREG to help “Pass It On” to the Taylor family. Simpson brought $300 from the station and $300 more from an anonymous donor. Together, Wilkerson and Simpson headed to the Taylor home to deliver the good news and extra money.

In the link below, Lisa greets them at the door with a confused look on her face. Watch as the kind-hearted trucker hands her the money and then receives a big hug from Lisa and a smile from Abby.
