Akron Police are investigating the shooting of a pregnant woman that occurred this past weekend.
Limited information has been released, but reports say the incident happened around 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
The 29-year-old victim was taken to Cleveland Clinic Akron General for treatment, and her unborn baby died.
No arrests have been made. Akron Mayor Shammas Malik has called the shooting callous and immoral, adding that finding the person responsible for this heinous crime is a top priority.
