Reports that Democrat Sherrod Brown is likely to run against Republican John Husted for Senate next year may be impacting the thinking of former Northeast Ohio Congressman Tim Ryan.
Brown -- who was defeated for reelection in 2024 -- is reportedly considering a run next year against Husted for the Senate seat formerly occupied by Vice President JD Vance.
Husted was appointed to fill the vacancy earlier this year.
A spokesperson for Democrat Tim Ryan says that Brown's decision to run for the Senate has renewed and heightened the former Congressman's interest in running for governor in 2026.
