The City of Akron is stepping up its focus on the development of its downtown area.
Christopher Hardesty was announced Tuesday as the city's first Executive Director of the Downtown Akron Development Corporation.
Hardesty's duties will include putting together funding, tracking development and investment, and connecting with developers.
