Barberton Police took a man into custody Tuesday evening after a confrontation on 15th Street.
According to reports, the 49-year-old suspect had allegedly cut a home's gas line and was threatening to blow up the house.
Witnesses say the neighborhood smelled of natural gas and nearby residents were evacuated.
The gas was able to be turned off and the man surrendered after a two-hour standoff.
