APS Planning $10M+ In Budgetary Cuts

Administrators in the Akron Public Schools district are sharing plans for cutting more than ten-million dollars from their budget for the next school year.

A spokesperson for the district says that, under the plan, 59 jobs would be cut.

Most of those are positions that are currently open and would just not be filled.

The breakdown in cuts includes about four-point-five million in operational costs and nearly five-point-eight million in personnel.
