Stark County Mystery Solved 24 Years Later

A Stark County mystery that dates back to 2001 has been solved.

Remains found on a Canton Township property 24 years ago and have gone unidentified in the years since.

Through DNA analysis and facial reconstruction, authorities say they have been able to identify the victim as 24-year-old Michigan resident Anthony Gulley.

Investigators shared their findings yesterday saying that Gulley had been shot to death in Michigan in 1994 with his remains later dumped in Stark County.

The man identified as Gulley's suspected killer -- a man named George Washington -- took his own life during a shootout with Akron Police in 1994.
