Akron Police are sharing bodycam video of an officer-involved fatal shooting.
Police say they were investigating reports of a stolen car last Monday when they spotted the vehicle and attempted to stop its driver in Summit Lake.
According to reports, 39-year-old Marcus Smith began shooting at officers who fired back hitting him.
Smith later died at a local hospital.
Referencing the video released on Saturday, Police Chief Brian Harding says the incident highlights the challenging and sometimes dangerous encounters that officers face every day.
