An announcement made in recent days by Bridgestone Americas includes word that some Akron workers will be losing their jobs.
The company says they will be closing a tire plant in Tennessee and making cuts at other locations in the U.S., including in the Rubber City.
An estimated 570 people work for the company in Akron.
There is no word on the specific number of local workers that will be impacted.
