For the first time in more than a decade, the Summit County Fugitive Safe Surrender initiative is returning.
The initiative allows those who have outstanding felony or misdemeanor warrants the chance to resolve issues in a community-based setting.
While the program does not offer amnesty, favorable consideration is often given to participants from prosecutors and judges.
The goal is to reduce the risk for those who have outstanding warrants, the community, and for law enforcement.
The program will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. this Wednesday through Saturday at the House of the Lord Church on Diagonal Road in Akron.
