At least one person is dead and over two dozen injured after a mass shooting in Akron.
The Akron Police Department says officers responded to a report of shots fired in a neighborhood in east Akron early this morning.
There are reports that the gunfire erupted at a birthday party.
Police say shortly after the calls came in, the call center started receiving notifications from area hospitals that people were arriving in emergency rooms with gunshot wounds.
Police have so far confirmed that 27 people were injured and that one man was killed.
It's not clear what led to the shooting or if there was more than one shooter.
Police are still investigating the scene.
