18-year-old Erik Jones missed his high school graduation last week so that he could compete in a NASCAR Truck Series race at the Texas Motor Speedway. Jones finished 11th in the race but came out a winner in the end when the Speedway's president Eddie Gossage – who was dressed in a cap and gown – presented Jones with his diploma, which was sent from his high school in Swartz Creek, Michigan.
Jones won his first truck series race last year at the age of 17, making him the youngest driver to do so. He is currently driving a truck owned by Kyle Busch and has 10 more races coming up this season. (Coed Magazine)
