THE WEEKEND IS UPON US AND DESPITE the beautiful weather today, Saturday and Sunday don't look to be as nice...so how about some indoor fun....
BOB DYLAN FANS WILL WANT TO catch Ryan Humbert at the Akron Civic Theatre Saturday night at 8pm. I'm told if you close your eyes you'll swear your hearing Mr. Zimmerman himself. Tickets are available at the Civic Box Office.
DO YOU REMEMBER THE SONGS "THE UNICORN" or maybe "Wasn't That A Party"? The Irish Rovers (also known at one time as just "The Rovers') will perform live at The Kent Stage tonight at 7pm. These guys have been making great music since the 1960's and this is one stop on their final tour (also perfect for St. Patricks Day). Tickets are still available at www.thekentstage.com.
THIS IS THE FINAL WEEKEND FOR "Bus Stop" at the Actors Summit in downtown Akron. For tickets and info see www.actorssummit.org. By the way, half the fun of attending Actors Summit is Greystone Hall. Somewhat similar to seeing the inside of the Civic Theatre.
"A MIDSUMMER NIGHTS DREAM" will hit the stage at E.J. Thomas Hall Saturday night at 8pm. A fully staged production featuring the Akron Symphony Orchestra. Get tickets at the box office or online at www.akronsymphony.org. We all need a little Shakespeare in our lives.
NEW MOVIES THIS WEEKEND INCLUDE "The Wind Rises' and Mr. Peabody & Sherman."
I'LL TALK TO YOU MONDAY MORNING from 9am until noon on 640 WHLO. JIM
