POOR BERNIE KOSAR. WHILE I DON'T KNOW him, he was always one of my favorite Browns players. Why do I pity him? He's had a number of problems in his life after retiring from football (financial problems, love life problems, health troubles due to playing in the NFL, and now his ouster from the play by play booth at Channel 3). It is not unusual for ex-athletes to have problems after retirement, but Bernie was not only a great player, but he was also a REAL student athlete. He's no dummy...but going public about his demotion at Channel 3 is actually a shame. In the broadcasting business, much like that of a football coach, your hired to someday be fired. Trust me, I've been there. Whoever decided that Kosar should go public with this has done him wrong. Hang in there Bernie, the fans here still love you and I'm sure you'll land on your feet.
IF YOU WORK FOR THE UNITED STATES POSTAL Service, update your resume. The postal service has opened postal counters in Staples stores all across the country. Why is this a bad thing? The counters will NOT be staffed by postal employees. You will be serviced (did I write that?) by an employee at Staples. Postal workers make a decent salary. Retail workers...not so much. This is another example of good paying middle class jobs disappearing in our country. Ahem.
DID YOU SEE THE STORY ABOUT THE man on trial for murder in Kansas. This isn't your run of the mill murder trial. Apparently Jeffrey Chapman (he's the one they think did the killing) has a tattoo across his neck that spells out M-U-R-D-E-R. His attorney is afraid the tattoo would be extremely prejudicial if the jury sees it. DUH! The lawyer wants the court to allow him to have the ink removed. Hmmmm, maybe we'll talk about this on Monday. We will absolutely talk about the policeman who shot his partner (you'll like this one). So join me Monday at 9am on 640 WHLO.
