Woman Charged With 146 County Of Animal Cruelty Dies

A Portage County woman who was facing 146 felony animal cruelty charges has died.

Barbara Wible was the president and co-founder of the nonprofit animal rescue Canine Lifeline.

She was charged after dozens of dogs were found dead at her Mantua home last June and more than a hundred others were found dead at another location.

At the time of the investigation, those close to Wible said that she had terminal cancer.

Prosecutors this week confirmed that she passed away last month.
