The American Civil Liberties Union is planning to sue the state of Ohio over the newly passed ban on gender-affirming care for minors.

Both the Ohio House and Senate voted to override Republican Governor Mike DeWine's veto of House Bill 68 which outlaws hormone therapies and other forms of care for transgender youth.

The ACLU says allowing the law to go through would be disastrous for young people in the state who struggle with gender dysphoria.

The organization is planning to ask a judge to issue an injunction to stop the law from taking effect on April 23rd.
