Taco Bell Suing To Free The Trademark For "Taco Tuesday"

Taco Bell is taking a run at freeing the trademark for “Taco Tuesday,” which is owned by the Taco John’s chain.

Taco John’s filed for and received the trademark on the saying in the 80s, but now Taco Bell is arguing that too many people and businesses use the phrase for the trademark to stand.

Taco Bell is asking regulators to force Taco John’s to abandon its trademark, and Jim Creel, the CEO of Taco John’s, responded publicly to Taco Bell’s filing by saying “I’d like to thank our worthy competitors at Taco Bell for reminding everyone that Taco Tuesday is best celebrated at Taco John’s.”
