Stranger Replaces Teen’s Stolen Scooter

A 13-year-old teen in Bountiful, Utah, was gifted a new electric scooter by an anonymous donor after it was stolen at a gas station.

The theft occurred a few weeks ago when the boy left his scooter outside a gas station to avoid upsetting the cashier. A woman allegedly took the opportunity to steal the scooter, putting it in her car and driving off with it.

The Bountiful City Police posted about the theft on social media hoping someone would recognize the suspect, but unfortunately didn’t get any leads on the thief. Then earlier this week, the police posted an update, revealing that an anonymous donor had reached out privately to replace the stolen scooter.

Officers Cody Keith and Jon Joubert had the honor of presenting the new scooter to the boy. Joubert says being able to give the scooter to the teen was “a cool moment.” The donor’s only request was that the teen be told that "not all people are bad." The teen was reportedly thrilled with the new scooter and getting to assemble it with his dad.
