FBI Warns Against Using Public Device Charging Stations

The latest way for hackers and scammers to infiltrate your devices is through public charging stations.

The FBI is out with a warning about “juice jacking.”

Bad guys have managed to hijack public chargers that can infect devices with malware or software that can give hackers access to your phone, tablet, or computer.

The scheme has been known since 2021.

Instead of using a public charging station, the agency says to bring your own brick and charging cable and plug it into an outlet.

If you’re traveling, have a portable charger with you since outlets are scarce at airports.
